Remember Star-Of-The-Week from elementary school? We’re bringing that back fitblr-style so I can get to know everyone more!
Since so many of us are going back to school, I thought I’d do a shorter challenge so it’s easy to finish. This will run from September 1st-7th.
Things to do:
-Reblog this
-Post a picture that corresponds to the challenge of the day. If you don’t want to post pictures, text posts work too!
-Tag your posts with #itsmyfitspo and #staroftheweekchallenge so everyone can see them!

I know it’s early to post a challenge that’ll start in september, but I had time today and I don’t know when I will again in the next few weeks!

Post coming shortly

Hiya! I noticed you mentioned that you're in college. What are you studying? And what's uni life like? I'm going into uni next year to hopefully study a bachelor of biomedicine to go into a masters of physiotherapy, and I'm SOOOOO nervous!! I don't know how I'm going to survive without my parents looking after me and cooking for me and everything haha! Have you got any tips for me? I love your blog btw :) xx

I am studying Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. Every college is very different from the next, so I can’t say what it will be like for you, but I can tell you that it will be a blast!

My advice:

  1. It’s okay to not be BFFs with your roommate. Living with best friends is how so many friendships end.
  2. You should still be super nice to your roommate no matter what. If you feel like you are doing 60% of the chores, then it’s actually probably about equal. Everyone has a different schedule and lifestyle, so there will be some compromising of what you consider clean or a good bedtime from what they do. Just do your own thing and let them do theirs!
  3. PLAN YOUR LIFE. Professors will not always remind you when something is going to be due, or how far away your next exam is. Get a planner, and put all of your assignment schedules into it right away.
  4. In addition to planning your study time and exams, I’ve found it helpful to plan workouts as well. If I don’t, then as soon as school gets busy, I stop exercising.
  5. You are an adult now, which is both good and bad. Try and think of all of the things your parents told you that you should do and you just rolled your eyes, and start actually doing those things! Going to bed at 10 and getting up at a normal hour is actually the best thing ever. Eating veggies instead of pizza for every meal really does make you feel better and more awake. Those kinds of things.
  6. Teach your parents how to skype or facetime before you leave. You’ll be glad you did :)

I am trying to get a workout plan set up. Do you think that 3 days a week doing 45 mins of cardio and 15 min strength and 2 days 30 of strength and 30 of cardio is a good plan? Should I do 15 of cardio and 45 strength one day? I'm confused.

As long as it’s sustainable for you, then it’s a good plan!

The only things you HAVE to have in a workout plan:

-Warm-ups

-Cool downs

-Rest days

Everything else depends on what you like and what your goals are! If you want more help with a specific workout plan, message me a bit more about you, your goals, and what a typical day is like :)

Hey, I've been following you for a while, but was only brave (stupid) enough to post my pics yesterday. I'm still terrified and I know it's going to take me a while to actually feel okay with myself. Do you have any tips or anything to help keep me positive? Or anything to help me between work and college when I go back in September? Thank you 😊 xx

Love yourself for who you are. I used to think that I had to weigh a certain amount before I could be confident, and that’s dumb. Just because there is something that you want to change or improve on, doesn’t mean that you can’t love it! Love yourself for where you are now, and then keep loving yourself when you see progress in the future :)

For balancing work and college: SCHEDULE EVERYTHING. Each night, I schedule out my work, classes, studying, workouts, and social stuff for the next day. If you don’t have a schedule, you’re going to skip or forget about stuff, and that’s just no good.

So, is yogurt and granola a good breakfast/ lunch? Like, is it good or bad for me? And does 15 minutes of running really do anything? That's about all I do a day, plus a workout that's 45 minutes

If it were me, I would try and add a few produce items as well to your meal. In general, the more colorful a meal is, the better! No foods are inherently good or bad. Everything is good. I shoot for 80/20: 80% of what I eat is to nourish my body, and 20% are treats and snacks!

15 minutes of running is better than 0 minutes of running! It’s a good warm up for your body, and it’s a good way to keep in running shape when you’re not training for anything.
